Cottage Garden: Corncockle & Sweet Pea
Agrostemma githago, or commonly called Corncockle (or Corn Cockle), is an annual that is easy to grow like a weed and blooms from May through July. Paper-thin fuchsia pink flowers sway with a wind and long upright stems are perfect for cut flowers. I got a packet of seeds from my mom many years ago and have been sowing seeds every year. This cascading arrangement is a cottage garden style in a distressed silver compote. A large kenzan is placed to hold delicate stems between pins rather than inserting into a pin.
Materials: Corncockle, Sweet pea (Saltwater Taffy Swirls), Lavender, Italian Parsley flowers, Society Garlic, Japanese Anemone’s leaves
