Peninsula Rose Society – 2015 Annual Rose Show
This is my 12th year to participate in the local annual rose show. Each year, I play several roles; including exhibitor, event photographer, webmaster and helper for judges. The show was held on May 3rd, but I did not have a chance to post the results of the show until now.
One single disappointment this year is that I literally didn’t have any show quality roses to submit for the horticulture categories (individual stems of roses) thanks to hungry deer (I suspect food is scarce due to the severe drought) and mysterious caterpillars. It was also too warm in April that all of my roses bloomed before May (which affected everyone who lives in this area two years in a row). However, I managed to make two small arrangements out of a handful “leftover” roses. This year’s theme for arrangements is “Roses for Broadway.” Thus, all classes have musical titles.
