Redwood City is located 25 miles South of San Francisco and about 27 miles North of San Jose. According to the U.S. and German governments’ climate surveys in 1920’s, Redwood City was chosen one of the world’s three best climates (The other two are the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean Coast of North Africa). Since then, proud residents of Redwood City call the town “climate best by government test.” Redwood City has an average high temperature of 77°F from April through September, and 63°F from October through March, with over 160 sunny days per year. The mild climate definitely is a gardening-friendly environment, especially for sun-loving plants.
