Farm Tomita, Furano

Farm Tomita represents large-scale commercial flower fields in Hokkaido.  The farm is located on a hillside, looking over Mount Tokachi.  It was indeed a spectacular view.  I was lucky to visit Furano at the beginning of the lavender season (early July).   Due to COVID travel restrictions, I was able to enjoy this famous spot without so many tourists.  In fact, I was the only passenger when I arrived at the nearby station.

Another wonderful experience in Furano was the hotel I stayed at.  Furano La Terre is a gem in the middle of rice fields.  The full course dinner was a full of seasonal local ingredients with a beautiful presentation.  Soaking in an outdoor bath tub was so relaxing.  It was such a treat for me.
