Magnolia in Okura Toen Tsubo

Magnolia grandiflora, or Southern Magnolia, is known for its large, white flowers and pleasant lemon scent. These blooms are arranged in a Nageire (throw-in) style, using a Tsubo-shaped vase from Okura Toen in Yokohama. Pam (Peninsula Rose Society member) gave me this beautiful vase, which she had inherited from her late mother two decades ago.

Magnolias don’t last long once cut, but their beauty and fragrance make them worth enjoying while they last.
