Aso, located in the northeast side of Kumamoto Prefecture, is a good getaway from the hot and muggy summer days in Kyushu.  Downhill biking near Mount Aso is thrilling and beautiful.  Book an E-bike in advance from Aso Cycle & Climbing Base CLAMP.   You can sign up for a 10:00am or 1:00pm self-guided tour and keep the bike until 5:00pm to explore the city of Aso.
