Spring above Fireplace Mantle
While not many flowers are in bloom during winter, a wall arrangement above the fireplace mantle can bring spring to the living room.
Hardenbergia violacea, or commonly known as lilac vine, vine lilac or purple coral pea, is not a lilac plant. The vine is native to Australia and can easily spreads to an eight-feet fence wall if supported with a trellis. The pea-like purple flowers bloom in January through February in Northern California. The lilac vines are cascaded on the dried twisted wisteria vine structure in this design. The wall arrangement can be re-purposed for other delicate and flexible vines like Jasmine or Clematis.
